Gone and it’s OK

My juggling act came to an end this May. Probably for awhile. I’m 300 blog notifications behind and I am spending most of my time outdoors. I will be somewhere between mowing the lawn, planting garden, finishing up our little cabin in the woods and being in a canoe in the wilderness. I have intentionally dropped many of the internet connection juggling pins. One can only juggle so many fishing rods and fillet knives which still remain in the air.

I’ll be in and out here and there. Have a great summer (or whatever season you are in around the world). I do appreciate all my word Press friends. Enjoy a couple of this springs shots. The header picture color was caused by the Canadian wildfires

A time to renew with friends and family in nature, reflect with natures insights, re-evaluate life relationships and my walk with God and rest around a camp fire and in a canoe.

Be warned: I’ll be back

  1. Thank you Gary. Have a great break. What a great time for you now that deep snow and incessant ice are finally gone once more. Glad you’re jumping in with both feet. Will miss your posts. Will remember you in prayer. We’ll catch up later on. Enjoy your blessings!

    1. He was turning Alan. I was juggling the camera and a couple of things to throw at the bear. He seems to think our deck is a destination to visit. I was on the deck. I won (this time)

  2. Ah, enjoy your trip back to the before times – when the rhythm of life was governed by the sun rising and setting, real play and hard work, helping others and the sanctuary of silence and meaningful conversations!! Your inspiring summations of life will be missed – but then maybe not – I just may tune out a bit too! Enjoy !

    1. A good way to put it Erika, “the rhythm of life is extremely important, especially that the relationships keep building as intended. one must tune out of some things to tune in to others.

      1. Thanks Gary. Juggling here too! A lot of decorating which was long overdue. I have not been able to comment on your posts so I tried another browser and that sorted it.

    1. Thanks Robert. I guess even Europe was affected…once one get’s down wind of the jet streams it’s quite a spectacular incident. It’s the ways that nature takes care of the imbalances of dry dead tinder that man has created to save nature. I have watched the comeback of new growth in the BWCA from a horrific wild fire there…I just marvel. A seed falls into a rock crevice, grows and splits rocks as big as a house.

    1. Will do Karen. I’ll be around here and there depending on weather, how long grand kids can stand me and how much I can sit in a canoe or bend over planting in the garden…The list goes on.

    1. Thanks Manette. I am looking forward to letting go of some of my inner demands and probably throw some things out of life’s bucket list. I have too many priorities sneaking under the fence and joining the pack in my life. I plan to have a camera handy when I can, finish my cabin in the woods and use it as a writers cabin…85% sure at the moment.

  3. I look forward to your accounts interacting with nature and your photo documentary of it. Here in northeast Ohio it was hazy for three days until the cold front came through. Have a great summer, Gary!

  4. Here you are. I have to hunt for your posts on this site. Your other site comes to my scrolling reader list, but not this one for some reason.
Love your posts here, Gary. I can join your adventures vicariously through your stories and great photos. I’m a “shut-in” now for most practical things, with my legs becoming less useful.
Love your post here with great photos and story descriptions. Have a great summer! God bless, brother!

    1. Sorry GW. I should have put a Post out on the “God’s Ways are Different Posts that I will be usin one blog. At least for awhile. I wondered how you were doing physically. Know that You are on my prayer list. There will come a time, I know it, I feel it in my bones, when I will not be able to carry a canoe on the portage trail….those mile markers of life that stretch toward eternity for those who walk with God. Ah GW. ..When in the wilderness I sometimes think I can smell heaven through the thin veil we live in here.

    1. I do fight the urge Nancy to say nothing and just be gone awhile but readers and posters whom I read, whom I consider friends, should know I have not been killed, maimed or gone to the dark side…I will enjoy for sure.

  5. Enjoy, Gary…now as you stay busy with nature, I on the other hand have a bit of time to really slow down with school being out and no sub jobs to take…more time to craft over the summer. I plan to make the sign for your cabin this week. Look forward to hearing more about your cabin updates when time allows on your end!!

    1. a small report Alicia. My wife and her sister from CA stayed in the cabin for 3 days and nights…they gave it rave reviews so far. I still have 3 sides to put siding on but it’s a start.

    1. Thanks Ann. I’ll be in and out. I do spend most of my time outside rather than behind a screen.
Posts are rainy day events (like today). You have a great summer as well. I couldn’t resist doing something from my much neglected smaller blog “God’s Ways Are different”
I may (should) get down to one blog…sigh. OCD denial here
